Motion has unveiled a new leader for the company after the appointment became effective earlier this month.
James F. Howe has been appointed as the president of Motion after Genuine Parts Company, of which Motion is a wholly owned subsidiary, ratified the move through its board of directors.
Howe has spent nearly three decades at the company and previously spent time as executive vice president and chief commercial and technology officer.
Genuine Parts Company chief executive Paul Donahue said, “James has an impressive history, having served in numerous executive roles during his long career at Motion.”
“His extensive experience makes him an excellent choice to lead Motion.
“We feel confident that under James’s leadership, our talented and experienced Motion team will continue to achieve great results.”
It comes after the company revealed Chris Cleland as senior vice president of strategy and markets earlier this year.
The move came after Cleland, who has enjoyed a 25-year career, spent 12+ years consulting the company on marketing and strategy projects. Cleland is responsible for strategy development for Motion’s business groups and the e-commerce and digital teams.
“His impressive track record in innovation and transformation makes him a perfect fit for guiding our companywide strategic planning process and shaping our future growth and success,” Howe said at the time.
“We look forward to an exciting journey ahead.”
