CRH has entered into the Californian construction market after announcing two acquisitions earlier this month.
The construction materials provider has acquired BoDean Company Inc. and Northgate Ready Mix, LLC in Santa Rosa, California it has been confirmed.
The acquisitions will add two aggregates quarries, two ready mixed concrete plants, one asphalt plant and one recycle plant to CRH’s portfolio.
“We are delighted to welcome all BoDean and Northgate employees to the CRH family,” CRH Americas Materials Solutions president Scott Parson said.
“The construction market in California is one of the largest in the United States and presents CRH with attractive opportunities for development and growth.
“As North America’s leading integrated supplier of aggregates, asphalt and ready mixed concrete we look forward to helping build, connect and improve Northern California and serving customers with our unique combination of building materials, products and solutions.”
CRH has recently been extremely busy in the market across several fronts. It recently completed the divestment of its lime operations in Europe to SigmaRoc and is part of a takeover deal for AdBri, the well-known South Australian aggregates producer, with Barro Group.
“We are pleased to reach this important milestone in the potential acquisition of Adbri in partnership with the Barro family,” CRH chief executive Albert Manifold said about the deal.
“Adbri is an attractive business with high-quality assets and leading market positions that complement our core competencies in cement, concrete and aggregates while creating additional opportunities for growth and development for our existing Australian business.
“We look forward to working with the Barro family over the coming years to enhance the long-term growth and performance of Adbri.”
