The Institute of Quarrying Australia (IQA) has revealed the identity of its new chief executive officer, who will lead the organisation forward.
Jane Schmitt has taken on the position at the IQA after previously working as a lawyer, business strategist, senior executive and board director.
Institute of Quarrying Australia president Duncan Harris welcomed Schmitt’s appointment to the IQA team as a boost for the organisation.
“Jane will continue our core focus on educating and connecting people engaged in the extractive and associated industries, while ensuring that IQA stretches out into new opportunities to enhance our membership offerings,” he said.
“Her strong relationship skills, professionalism and commitment to excellence are highly regarded and will be important assets for IQA.
“Jane’s extensive skills and experience will help propel IQA forward through close partnerships with members, stakeholders, and other like-minded organisations.”
Schmitt commenced the role on May 1.
