Two of Holcim Australia’s key safety leaders have been recognised at the company’s annual health, safety and environment awards.

The awards, in its third iteration, recognise the best performance within the worldwide company across the three categories.

The Humes ‘Legs Ends’ team was recognised with the ‘Critical Risk Management’ Award for AMEA. Led by Humes Australia national operations manager Maurice Quinn, the team has improved safety protocols and performance at the company’s Ipswitch concrete plant in Queensland. The team includes Quinn, Paul Casemore, Brad Callaghan, Alex Kinsella, and Káeani.

“Engaging the team during the safety initiative was another opportunity for the team to understand where gaps might exist at our Ipswich concrete plant and how to prioritise and accelerate any gap closure,” Quinn said.

Holcim Australia industrial hygiene senior advisor Robyn Pass achieved an honourable mention in the “You Can Make A Difference” Award.

Pass has played a key role in the company’s hygiene and health surveillance programs in Australia and New Zealand.

“Robyn provides outstanding support to our operations teams, which leads to successful collaboration and adoption of initiatives focused on compliance, risk reduction, and health management plans,” national assurance and hygiene manager Joe Maglizza said.
