Finlay has revealed it will debut new electric variants of the I-120RS impact crusher and the 883+ scalping screen at Hillhead 2024.
The company, which is a Terex brand, will unveil these in Hillhead’s working demonstration area. The electric-powered technology can derive its power from mains electric power supply or a secondary source like a genset like the new Finlay TG500 Genset.
“We are excited to unveil our latest electric equipment at Hillhead 2024,” business line director for Finlay Matt Dickson said.
“The features integrated into these electric machines will empower customers to achieve their sustainability objectives while maintaining the mobility and ease of movement that are hallmarks of our equipment.”
The electric Finlay I-120RS features an onboard innovative quick detach 3.66m x 1.53m (12’ x 5’) two-deck screen. The new machine offers quarries the ability to perform mobile impact crushing and screening in one platform.
The new equipment was designed with input from Finlay’s distribution network and customers. This input revealed mobility was a necessity for all operators to enable relocation with minimal effort.
To this end, both the -120RS impact crusher and 883+ scalping screen feature an onboard engine primarily dedicated to mobility while all operational components—feeders, crushers, screeners, conveyors and more are powered by electricity. An additional measure is the introduction of Finlay gen-sets, which provide electricity to connected Finlay equipment when a plug-in connection to the grid is unavailable.
“By adopting electric-powered mobile crushing and screening equipment, customers not only achieve environmental benefits but also gain financial and operational advantages as well,” Dickson said. “It also future-proofs their investments as the industry moves towards more sustainable practices—making them a forward-thinking and responsible choice for operators.”
Visitors to the Finlay booth at Hillhead 2024 will have the opportunity to experience live demonstrations of the new electric machines, interact with product experts, and learn more about the benefits of transitioning to electric-powered equipment.
Hillhead 2024 takes place from June 25-27 at Hillhead Quarry in Buxton, United Kingdom.
