What you need to know about the 2024 IQA Conference

The Institute Quarrying of Australia is bringing its national conference to Adelaide later this year. Quarry examines all the key information about the major event.  

The conference will be held from October 15-17 at the Adelaide Convention Centre, with industry figures from across the country set to attend.  

The conference will examine the roles of innovation and creativity in the quarrying industry and the key lessons the industry can learn from these concepts to improve sustainability.  

IQA2024 will provide an excellent opportunity for your organisation to gain insights into evolving customer requirements, engage with key decision-makers and industry professionals, and showcase your organisation’s products and services. 

The three-day program features insightful exhibits, field trips, site visits, and an entertaining social program for exhibitors, delegates, sponsors, and partners to connect.  

PACKED PROGRAM  

IQA2024’s full program has been released with a series of networking events, exhibitions, keynote speeches and more set to take place around Adelaide.  

Highlights include the ministerial address from Tom Koutsantonis, MP, South Australia’s Minister for Infrastructure and Transport, and Minister for Energy and Mining, who will officially open the conference. Keynote speakers include Claire Madden, a leading voice on Generation Z and social trends, who will provide valuable insights on the future of work trends.  

Stefan Hajkowicz will delve into global megatrends and the future of AI. Industry. Panel Discussions and Interactive Workshop Sessions featuring industry leaders on sustainability and innovation and hands-on sessions.  

Topics range from regulatory challenges to technical sessions on cutting-edge technologies and innovations in the quarrying sector. The IQA Young Member Network (YMN) and Women in Quarrying (WIQ) will host the Career Expo, which will explore career opportunities in our industry. 

As always, the IQA conference provides attendees with opportunities to engage and connect with industry leaders, representatives from peak bodies, and various professionals working in the quarrying, extractives and construction materials sectors. 

Key networking events at the conference will include the Hitachi Welcome Reception, the Komatsu Conference Dinner and the Caterpillar Gala Dinner.

The conference will also feature the 2024 IQA Awards, which recognise outstanding achievements and contributions in the quarrying industry.  

“The awards are a fantastic opportunity to honour and celebrate the outstanding individuals and organisations that contribute significantly to the quarrying industry across various categories,” the IQA said. 

The IQA presents a unique opportunity with two Young Member Network national scholarships, each valued at up to $2500, and two South Australian scholarships covering the full conference registration cost.  Applications close on August 7 via this link.
