Komatsu has announced a new facility will be built by 2026 as part of a significant greenfield expansion of its Arizona headquarters in Mesa.
The new facility will be 225,000 square feet, which is significantly larger than the current 75,000 square feet facility. Komatsu estimates the facility, located close to the airport in Southeast Mesa, will be complete in 2026.
Danny Murtagh, vice president of parts distribution at Komatsu, said the new facility will open up new opportunities for the company.
“We conducted an extensive search to best meet our growth needs and are proud that we will continue calling Mesa home,” he said.
“Between our highly skilled workforce, existing partnerships in the area, and the projected economic outlook in the region, it is exciting to announce this expansion.
“The expanded sales and service facility represents a multi-million dollar strategic investment and underscores Komatsu’s commitment to the local economy and a positive outlook for economic growth in the region.”
According to Komatsu, up to 100 more jobs will be created in the first few years of operations on site and short-term jobs will come from the new site’s construction.
