‘Exciting time’: Hillhead 2024 hailed as a success for quarrying

The latest iteration of Hillhead has been labelled a “fantastic” success after breaking several attendance records.

Over three days, more than 19,500 visitors and close to 600 exhibitors attended the show to see new product and service launches, technology innovations, and live demonstrations.

Richard Bradbury, event director at Hillhead, said the UK’s largest live demonstration trade show had been a success.

“With the sun shining and visitors spending more time at the show than ever before, it was fantastic to see Hillhead continuing to break new attendance records,” he said.

“It’s an exciting time for the industry as digitalisation, automation, and decarbonisation continue to drive change within the quarrying, construction, and recycling sectors, and this was represented by the scale and quality of the 600 or so companies that exhibited.

“But my abiding memory of Hillhead 2024 is of the unique ‘human’ platform it provided for buyers and sellers to engage – to feel, touch, and interact with the products on show, and, of course, to catch up with colleagues and network with the wider industry.”

This 2024 show included a record number of machines across four live demonstration areas with a host of improvements for attendees including more car-parking, additional catering areas and hydration stations.

It comes after the event organisers revealed the list of attendance records the show broke during its run from June 25-27.
