Better, smarter, and safer will be the theme of Caterpillar’s exhibition at MINExpo when the major exhibition takes over Las Vegas later this year.

During the exhibition, the original equipment manufacturer will showcase industry-leading technologies, advancements in energy transition, and customised solutions. MINExpo is one of the largest trade showcases for the mining, metals, quarrying, sand, and gravel industries.

“Caterpillar’s legacy is to deliver an exceptional experience at every job site through customer-focused solutions and services,” Caterpillar resources industries group president Denise Johnson said.

“As our exhibit shows, together with our customers, we are mining better, smarter and safer. And this is just the beginning of our closer-than-ever before collaborations with customers.”

During the three-day event, key highlights from Caterpillar will include the 372-tonne Cat 798 AC mining truck, the underground Cat R1700 XE load-haul-dump loader, and the Cat MineStar technology.

The company will debut two new technology innovations as part of the MineStar offering at MINExpo 2024: a new collision awareness system and a new office application for terrain payload management.

“We believe systems, such as command for hauling, are essential to optimise mine site performance, both with our current product line and as we introduce new offerings like our battery electric solutions,” Caterpillar resource industries senior vice president Marc Cameron said.

“Autonomous technology will help monitor and orchestrate the complex balance of onboard energy, available charging assets and production targets to achieve the lowest operating costs.”

MINExpo is returning for the first time since 2021. The event takes place every four years and brings together industry figures from around the world.

“Customers will experience our latest technology innovations and autonomous developments throughout the Caterpillar show floor at MINExpo,” Caterpillar vice president and general manager of technology and global sales support Sean McGinnis said.

“Mine site automation makes significant impacts in operations and not just with autonomous haulage. Today, we have customers around the world utilising our autonomous solutions for drilling, loading, dozing, hauling and underground, and we are working with many customers to develop the autonomous sites of tomorrow.”

Caterpillar will be exhibiting at its Central Hall exhibit, #6333 in the Las Vegas Convention Centre from September 24-26.
