Cemex has announced the addition of new electric concrete mixers to its global fleet.

The new mixers have arrived in Mexico as part of the company’s strategy to decarbonise its global fleet, which is a key component of its Future in Action program, which aims to achieve net-zero CO2 emissions by 2050.

“These electric concrete mixers offer full-load capacity and can operate for a full day’s work, showcasing their efficient and scalable design. Cemex has already introduced similar mixers in Germany and Dubai and plans to expand into France, Spain, Poland, and the Czech Republic,” the company said in a statement.

“Committed to sustainable transportation, the company has also invested in more than 1,000 heavy-duty trucks powered by renewable diesel and natural gas. These key transitional technologies will reduce carbon emissions in the short term as heavy-duty electric vehicles become viable on an industrial scale.”
