SKF have recently launched the RecondOil Box, a solution designed to change the way industries use and reuse oil.
By embracing a circular economy model, the RecondOil Box allows companies to significantly reduce their environmental impact while enhancing machine performance and reducing operational costs.
Traditional industrial practices involve using oil until it degrades, requiring frequent changes and disposal, which contributes to environmental pollution and high maintenance costs. However, the RecondOil Box disrupts this cycle by enabling the continuous use of the same oil without degradation, achieving cleaner oil than new.
Utilising SKF’s patented Double Separation Technology (DST), the RecondOil Box can remove contaminants down to nano-size, often rendering the oil cleaner than freshly sourced oil. This technology not only extends oil life indefinitely but also offers substantial economic and environmental benefits, including a remarkable 96 per cent reduction in CO2 emissions compared to traditional oil use cycles. This figure is backed by a life cycle analysis performed by the IVL Swedish Environmental Research Institute in 2021.
