JV getting up to speed

Contracts for the second stage upgrade of two key road corridors in Western Sydney have been awarded by Transport for NSW, with work commencing today.

Decmil has been contracted for the early works on the project, starting on 14 October 2026, which will continue until 22 December, according to Transport for NSW (TfNSW).

A joint venture between Gamuda Engineering Australia and BMD Constructions has been awarded the $2 billion stage 2 upgrades of Elizabeth Drive, between the M12 Motorway connection at Badgerys Creek and Devonshire Road at Kemps Creek, and Mamre Road between Erskine Park Road, Erskine Park and Kerrs Road, Kemps Creek.

The project includes upgrades across 4.5 km of Elizabeth Drive and across 3 km of Mamre Road, integrated civil, structural and utility works, road capacity and connectivity improvements, and associated utility relocation and integration.

Adjacent to the new Western Sydney International Airport, the project is set to accommodate growing commercial and commuter traffic and will support future development and investment in the region. The project forms part of a broader Western Sydney infrastructure investment valued at nearly $3 billion.

In addition to the two $1 billion stage 2 upgrades, a $440 million contract has been awarded to Fulton Hogan for the Garfield Road East project at Riverstone, and BMD Constructions will deliver the $247 million Henry Lawson Drive Stage 1B project at Milperra.

And Ward Civil & Environmental Engineering has scored the $190 million project on The Horsley Drive at Horsley Park.
