Holcim Australia has marked its contribution to the Western Harbour Tunnel, which is currently under construction.
The Western Harbour Tunnel is a major infrastructure project for Sydney. It will be 6.5 kilometres long and offer a connection between the WestConnex Rozelle Interchange and the Warringah Freeway.
“We’re proud to be contributing to this transformative project that will improve connectivity and support Sydney’s growing transport needs,” Holcim Australia general manager for national commercial and major projects Steve Mossie said.
“Our Sydney concrete plants are well positioned to support delivery of consistent, high-quality material to this significant infrastructure build.”
Holcim Australia is supporting the project with readymix concrete from its plants in Lidcombe, Alexandria and Artarmon. The construction materials are being used in the 4.8 kilometre northern section of the tunnel.
The second stage of the Western Harbour Tunnel includes the northern section tunnel construction, marine works beneath Sydney Harbour and the fit-out of the tunnel with ventilation, lighting and safety system.
