Holcim Australia national sustainability manager Evan Smith has been recognised among the winners of the Green Building Council of Australia’s Green Star Champions award.
The awards returned for its fifth year as a key industry recognition for engineers, designers, planners, architects, professionals, consultants, and leading advocates.
“Their work is not only shaping the built environment, but reshaping mindsets across the industry. We’re proud to recognise these individuals who continue to push boundaries and set new benchmarks for sustainability in the industry,” Green Building Council of Australia chief executive officer Davina Rooney said.
“All the champions have shown a dedication to the creation of healthy and efficient places that respond to the challenge that is climate change.”
Holcim Australia national sustainability manager Evan Smith is one of the 21 winners. Holcim has a proven track record in the award after Holcim Australia head of sustainability Cyril Giraud was named as a 2024 winner.
“I’m honoured to be named a 2025 Green Star Champion—especially alongside so many past recipients I respect and admire. Green Star has been a driving force in transforming the Australian built environment, and I’m proud to be part of that journey,” he said.
“Working in this space gives me a strong sense of purpose. The work we do today can significantly reduce Australia’s carbon emissions and lay the foundation for a more sustainable, resilient future.”
