Heidelberg Materials UK has launched a new concrete plant to bolster its network of facilities in Wales.
The new concrete plant, located in Abergele, North Wales, is adjacent to Heidelberg Materials UK’s Abergele quarry. The proximity of the plant means that the emissions associated with transporting the aggregates by road are significantly reduced.
The plant will supply major construction projects in the region and readymix concrete for residential construction.
“Our new Abergele concrete plant is well placed to support a wide range of customers in the region,” Heidelberg Materials UK area general manager for concrete Barry O’Hanlon said.
“We offer a fast, efficient and reliable supply of ready-mixed concrete and can supply any requirements, whether for a collect customer or for a large infrastructure project.”
According to the company, the plant has capacity to supply high volume, specialist or bespoke mixes and low carbon concrete. It is equipped with two concrete mixers.
