Heidelberg Materials Australia has expanded its regional New South Wales concrete network through the acquisition of High Quality Concrete, a long-established supplier on the Coffs Coast.

The acquisition adds three concrete plants in Coffs Harbour, Woolgoolga and Dorrigo to Heidelberg Materials’ existing east coast footprint, strengthening supply capability across northern NSW. The business employs 20 people and will continue to operate under the High Quality Concrete name.

Heidelberg Materials Australia chief executive Phil Schacht said the acquisition is intended to strengthen service resilience and improve access to the group’s wider network.

“This acquisition aligns with our long-term growth ambitions and further enhances our NSW regional customer offering by providing improved supply capability, increased operational resilience and access to Heidelberg Materials’ broader network,” Schacht said.

The deal follows a series of targeted acquisitions by Heidelberg Materials across Australia over the past 18 months, signalling a continued strategy of expanding integrated quarry and concrete operations in key markets.

Earlier acquisitions have included Midway Concrete in Melbourne and sand operations in Central Queensland, while in February the company announced a $1.7 billion agreement to acquire the construction materials division of Maas Group Holdings. That transaction includes 40 quarries, 22 concrete plants, two asphalt operations and a recycling facility across eastern Australia.

High Quality Concrete will continue under the same name following the acquisition.
