Rod Schrader has confirmed he will step down from his chairman and chief executive officer roles at Komatsu America.
Schrader will step down from the dual roles on March 31 before fully retiring on June 30, which brings to an end a career at Komatsu America, which began in 1987.
“I want to thank Rod Schrader for his outstanding leadership and commitment to Komatsu over the past 38 years. His contributions have been innumerous, and we congratulate him on a well-deserved retirement,” Komatsu CEO, representative director and president Hiroyuki Ogawa said.
Schrader has been Komatsu America’s chairman and chief executive officer since 2012 with a mandate to oversee the company’s large manufacturing footprint as well as product distribution for construction, forestry, mining and utility equipment, technology and services.
“It has been an incredible honour to lead Komatsu America and its talented team across the US and Canada,” Schrader said.
“I am proud of all that we have accomplished, and I have full confidence that Rod will continue to propel the company forward with a clear vision and strategic leadership.”
Rod Bull will become the chief executive officer of Komatsu North America from April 1 after previously serving as executive vice president of Komatsu’s North America region. Bull has spent 14 years at Komatsu North America after joining in 2011 and a decade of industry experience prior to joining Komatsu.
“Komatsu has a strong legacy of innovation and excellence, and I am honoured to step into the role of CEO,” Bull said. “I look forward to working with our employees, customers, dealers and other partners to build on our success and continue driving growth in the years ahead.”
