Experienced contractors are being urged to register their interest in designing and constructing three key road upgrades in New South Wales.
Transport for NSW is looking for contractors to construct and design upgrades to Elizabeth Drive, Mamre Road Stage 2, and Garfield Road East.
The three main arterial roads in Western Sydney are expected to play an important role in the region which could see increased demand from the local airport project.
“The massive infrastructure investment, with the Australian and State Government each providing half of the committed funding, will deliver safer, faster journeys for Western Sydney communities as new employment zones drive unprecedented growth and Western Sydney International (Nancy Bird Walton) Airport nears completion,” the Transport for NSW release read.
The Elizabeth Drive upgrade will include a two two-lane dual carriageway to priority sections between Devonshire Road and Western Road. The $800-million-dollar upgrade will also include upgrade intersections at Kemps Creek, Badgerys Creek, Luddenham and Bradfield city.
The second stage of the Mamre Road project will upgrade the road from Erskine Park Road through to Kerrs Road with investigations works already underway. The $1 billion second phase will continue the work of the original phase which is already underway.
Garfield Road East, regarded as a key sub-arterial route, will be upgraded to a two-lane dual carriageway. These works are designed to support locals from housing developments in the North West Growth Area.
