Boral has highlighted the extensive efforts and investment it is making in upgrading its heavy machinery at sites across Australia.
The construction materials producer provided more details on its extensive heavy machinery upgrade program, which has been carried out throughout the year.
“With more reliable assets in place, we can improve availability and uptime, which helps us move stock more efficiently to our customers,” Boral head of assets and capital projects Paul Young said.
“It’s a vital part of lifting performance and supporting our people with the tools they need to deliver.”
It comes after Boral welcomed the addition of two new CAT 773 haul trucks at Montrose Quarry recently which followed the arrival of a CAT Excavator on-site a few months ago.
The program has been described as a “multi-year investment” program which also includes rebuilding assets to provide them with a second life. By completion, Boral will have rolled out 140 new heavy machinery assets and rebuilt 55 existing machines. As it stands, the company has already rolled out at least 40 front-end loaders, 14 new excavators and six dump trucks as part of the initiative in recent months across 48 sites nationwide.
