Fulton Hogan has revealed more details around the progress of its road base product, RAP2(ES) which is designed for sustainable construction.
Fulton Hogan’s Australian Pavements Research and Development team has successfully trialled an enhanced version of the RAP2(ES) product.
Fulton Hogan pavements manager Dr Laszlo Petho and Fulton Hogan National Technical Manager for binders Khoa Vo led the team that successfully developed RAP2(ES)R. The ‘R’ signifies rapid setting, which the trial reinforced as it showed the curing time for the product was 24 hours.
“(This was) substantially faster than the traditional week-long process, without compromising durability, even under adverse weather conditions,” the company posted.
“RAP2(ES)R utilises 100 per cent reclaimed asphalt pavement, reinforcing Fulton Hogan’s commitment to sustainable practices by reducing dependence on virgin materials and lowering its carbon footprint.
“The rapid-setting nature of the product also enhances efficiency across project sites and streamlines operations in bitumen emulsion plants, further strengthening Fulton Hogan’s leadership in developing innovative and environmentally responsible products for the infrastructure sector.”
