Holcim has completed two acquisitions and agreed to make a third to accelerate its circular construction across Europe.

The company has closed the acquisition of Thames Materials, based in West London, UK, and A&S Recycling GmbH, based in Hanover, Germany. Holcim has also agreed to acquire a recycler of construction demolition materials in northwest France.

The three companies combined have an annual permitted processing capacity of 1.3 million tons.

Holcim chief executive officer Miljan Gutovic said that the procurements will bolster the company’s position as a leading partner for sustainable construction.

“The acquisitions of Thames Materials, A&S Recycling GmbH, and a recycling business in north-wets France will extend our leadership in circular construction and contribute to our NextGen growth 20230 target of recycling more than 20 million tons of construction demolition materials a year,” he said.

“The future of construction is circular, and I look forward to realising that future together with our new colleagues.”
