Registrations are now open for a comprehensive suite of professional development courses offered by the Institute of Quarrying Australia (IQA), with places already filling fast as the sector plans for a skill-boosting March program.

Designed to help quarry operators, supervisors and leaders strengthen competencies across safety, risk management, plant operations, and leadership, the March calendar features a mix of online webinars and practical workshops suitable for all experience levels.

The lineup kicks off with Critical Control Management on 3 March, focusing on internationally recognised risk-prevention strategies. Following this, Hazard Identification (10 March) gives participants tools to spot routine workplace risks, while Quarry Roads & Onsite Vehicle Safety (13 March) addresses one of the highest-risk areas on any site.

Other key offerings include Emergency Management (17 March) and Managing in the Middle (18 March), a leadership-focused session for operational managers. Rounding out the schedule are Contractor Safety Management (24 March) and a detailed Plant & Equipment workshop on 27 March that covers conveyors, mobile plant and maintenance practices.

Each session delivers Continuing Professional Development (CPD) points, helping professionals meet annual requirements while staying current with industry best practice. Member and non-member pricing varies with course length, and IQA advises early registration to secure spots as capacity limits approach.

Full details on course content, CPD hours, and registration links are available via the IQA website’s education calendar.
