Boral has taken home the Large Company Turnaround award at the 2025 Turnaround Management Association (TMA) Australia Awards, recognising its improvement in high performance.

Boral chief executive officer and managing director Vik Bansal said that the team are to be commended for their tremendous hard work.

“This award is a testament to all of our people and the contribution our employees make every day to make Boral a stronger and better business,” Bansal said.

“Our Boral Way has guided our improvement, and we know there are further gains that we can make as part of our ‘Good to Great’ Journey in the months and years ahead.”

TMA said that Boral’s turnaround delivered a complete reset, tripling returns and record profitability in just three years.

“More than just a financial fix, this was a holistic turnaround that lifted safety, engagement, brand equity, and share price, ensuring it sustainability,” the TMA said.

“The success was driven by rigorous, relentless execution, removing “speed humps” for staff, and encouraging safe agility, demonstrating that a deep cultural shift is the foundation of long-term value restoration.”

The TMA Australia Awards were established in 1993 and recognise excellence and operational turnarounds of businesses that lead in Australia’s journey to sustainable and measure able improvement.
