Barfold Quarry has been brought to market, offering a rare chance to secure a strategic extractive asset in Central Victoria. With proven reserves and existing infrastructure, the sale is expected to attract significant interest from the industry.
Stuart J Castle has an exciting sale opportunity in Central Victoria for buyers seeking a well-established basalt quarry.
Barfold Quarry (WA558) is being offered for sale, including all related plant and equipment. The site has more than 30-plus years of reserves and an approved extraction area of 52.8 hectares. Production at the site has been managed around 300kt per annum, with the capacity to reach 500kt per annum under the current planning permit. The sale includes full benefits and responsibilities of WA558, all associated plant and equipment, offices, and a weighbridge. An asset register is available on request, while all Work Authority documents and plans will be made available to facilitate the due diligence stage.
Due to its location in Central Victoria, the quarry offers access to regional Victorian and metropolitan Melbourne markets. There remains an opportunity to expand the extraction area east within the existing WA area.
The quarry has proven capable of producing multiple sellable products from its basalt resource, including 20mm Classes 1 to 4 (including Vic Roads certified standard), 7 to 20mm aggregate, 60-80mm ballast, 150-300mm beeching, 40mm rubble, and 20 to 40mm NDCR.
Land does not form part of the sale, and a royalty will be payable to the landholder based on tonnage sales.
